Window Tint Film

Carbon Window Tint Film

  1. Material: Carbon window tint film is made from a unique type of carbon particle that is non-metallic and non-conductive. This composition ensures that the film does not interfere with radio, cell phone, or GPS signals.

  2. Heat Reduction: Carbon film is excellent at blocking infrared light, which is primarily responsible for the heat you feel inside the car. This means better comfort inside the vehicle, especially during warmer weather.

  3. UV Protection: It offers a significant degree of protection against ultraviolet rays, helping to reduce fading and aging of your car’s interior.

  4. Color and Aesthetics: Carbon film often has a matte-finish and does not fade over time. It provides a sleek, dark look to your windows that many car owners find attractive.

  5. Durability: It’s quite durable and less likely to develop cracks or bubbles with age.

Ceramic Window Tint Film

  1. Material: Ceramic window tint film is made of tiny, non-conductive ceramic particles. These particles are both non-metallic and non-conductive, which means they won’t interfere with electronics.

  2. Heat Reduction: Ceramic films are highly efficient at blocking out both infrared and UV light. They are usually considered superior to carbon film in terms of heat rejection, keeping the interior of the car even cooler.

  3. UV Protection: They offer excellent UV protection, comparable to carbon films, protecting the interior of your car and your skin from sun damage.

  4. Color and Aesthetics: Ceramic tint generally has a slight shine to it and offers exceptional clarity. It’s also available in a variety of shades and is highly resistant to fading.

  5. Durability: Ceramic film is extremely durable and resistant to glare and fading. It’s known for its high quality and longevity.

Key Window Tint Film Differences

  • Heat Rejection: While both films are effective at heat rejection, ceramic film typically outperforms carbon film in this aspect.
  • Cost: Ceramic film is often more expensive than carbon film due to its advanced technology and superior heat rejection capabilities.
  • Aesthetic: Carbon film provides a matte-finish look, while ceramic film tends to have a slight shine.
  • Signal Interference: Neither of these films will interfere with electronic signals, making them both excellent choices for drivers who rely on GPS, cell phones, or radio while in their vehicles.

In summary, both carbon and ceramic films are excellent choices for window tinting, offering heat reduction, UV protection, and no signal interference. The decision between the two often comes down to personal preference regarding aesthetics, the level of heat rejection desired, and budget considerations. As the owner of Texas Tint Magic, I can assure you that both options will greatly enhance your driving experience.

Window Tint Cutting

Computer Cut Window Tint Patterns

#image_title

Benefits of using a plotter for computer-cut window tint patterns here at Texas Tint Magic. This technology has revolutionized the way we apply window tints to cars and trucks, offering precision, efficiency, and unmatched quality.

Precision and Accuracy: One of the most significant advantages of using a plotter for window tinting is the precision it provides. The computer-controlled plotter cuts the film to the exact specifications of the vehicle’s windows. This means a perfect fit every time, eliminating the risks of human error associated with hand-cutting. The edges are clean and precise, ensuring a seamless look that appears as if it came straight from the factory.

Time Efficiency: The process of hand-cutting window tint can be time-consuming, especially for complex window shapes. With a plotter, the time taken to cut the film is drastically reduced. This means we can complete tinting jobs more quickly, allowing us to serve more customers efficiently without compromising on quality.

Safety for the Vehicle: When hand-cutting tint, there’s always a risk of damaging the vehicle’s windows or rubber seals with the cutting tool. With computer-cut tint, the film is cut away from the vehicle on the plotter, significantly reducing the risk of any accidental damage during the application process.

Wide Range of Options: Our plotter system is loaded with a comprehensive database of window tint patterns for various car and truck models. This extensive library allows us to select and cut films for a wide range of vehicles, from the most popular models to more unique or older vehicles.

Consistency: For customers who own multiple vehicles or businesses with fleets, consistency in window tinting is crucial. Computer-cutting ensures that every tint application is identical across different vehicles, maintaining a uniform look and standard.

Customization: While our database covers a wide range of models, the plotter also allows for custom designs and adjustments. If a customer has specific requirements or if a vehicle has aftermarket modifications, we can customize the tint pattern to accommodate these unique needs.

Reduced Waste: Computerized cutting is more material-efficient than manual cutting. The plotter software optimizes the film layout to minimize waste, which is not only good for the environment but also helps in keeping our costs down – savings that we pass on to our customers.

Professional Finish: The end result of a computer-cut window tint is a professional, sleek finish that truly elevates the look of any vehicle. Our customers at Texas Tint Magic appreciate the superior quality and the meticulous attention to detail that computer cutting provides.

The use of a plotter to computer-cut window tint patterns represents the cutting edge of window tinting technology. At Texas Tint Magic, we’re proud to offer this state-of-the-art service to our customers, ensuring they receive the best possible results for their vehicles.

Window Tint Laws

Texas Auto Window Tint Laws

As the owner of Texas Tint Magic, it’s crucial for us to stay informed about Texas auto window tint laws to ensure that we provide services that are not only top-quality but also fully compliant with state regulations. Here’s an overview of the Texas auto window tint laws that our customers should be aware of:

1. Windshield Tint:

  • In Texas, the windshield can have a tint strip on the top, which should not extend downward beyond the AS-1 line (located about five inches from the top of the windshield) or no more than five inches from the top, whichever comes first on the windshield.
  • The tint on the strip should not be reflective and must allow more than 25% light transmission.

2. Front Side Windows: (Windows to the Right and Left of the Driver)

  • The front side windows (driver and passenger side) must allow more than 25% light transmission.
  • The tint on these windows should be non-reflective.

3. Back Side Windows: (Side Windows to the Rear of the Driver)

  • These windows are completely excempt from regulation under the Texas Transportation code.

4. Rear Window:

  • The same rules apply to the rear window as to the back side windows if the rear window is tinted, the vehicle must have dual side mirrors.
  • If no side mirrors, then the combination of original glass and tint must allow more than 25% light transmission.

5. Reflectivity and Colors:

  • The tint material should not be more than 25% reflective.
  • Red, amber, and blue tints are not legally permitted on any vehicle windows.

6. Certification and Stickers:

  • The tint film manufacturers are required to certify the film they sell in Texas. You should verify that the film being used on your vehicle is certified.
  • There is no requirement in Texas for a sticker to identify legal tinting.

7. Medical Exemption:

  • Texas law allows for medical exemptions for darker window tints. If you have a qualifying medical condition that requires protection from the sun, you can apply for an exemption through the Texas Department of Public Safety. This allows for window tint that is darker than normally permitted under state law.

It’s important for our customers at Texas Tint Magic to understand these laws to ensure that their vehicles are not only stylish and comfortable but also legal. If you have any questions or need further clarification on window tint laws in Texas, feel free to ask us at Texas Tint Magic. We’re here to provide you with the best service while adhering strictly to state regulations.

Window Tint Exemptions

1. Law Enforcement – Vehicles that are maintained by a law enforcement agency and used for law enforcement purposes.

2. Medical Exception – used by persons for medical reasons.

3. Passenger Transport – vehicles used to transport passengers on a regular basis for a fee (ie. taxi, limousine, and buses).

5% Tint (Also Known as Limo Tint)

  • Visibility: 5% tint is one of the darkest tints available and allows only 5% of visible light to enter the vehicle. This means that only a very small amount of light can penetrate the tint, making the interior of the car appear almost pitch black from the outside.
  • Privacy and UV Protection: It offers maximum privacy and is excellent at blocking out UV rays and reducing glare. This makes it a popular choice for those seeking maximum seclusion and protection from the sun.
  • Aesthetic and Legal Considerations: While it gives a sleek, private look, it’s important to note that such a dark tint may not be legal for front side windows and windshields in many areas, including Texas. It’s commonly used in rear windows.

20% Tint

  • Visibility: 20% tint is a medium-dark film that allows 20% of visible light to pass through. This level provides privacy while still permitting more visibility than the 5% tint.
  • Balance of Privacy and Light: It’s a popular choice for drivers looking for a balance between privacy and the ability to see outside clearly, especially at night.
  • UV and Glare Reduction: Like the 5% tint, it also effectively blocks out UV rays and reduces glare, offering good protection and comfort.

35% Tint

  • Visibility: 35% tint is a lighter film that permits 35% of visible light into the vehicle. This tint is a common choice for front side windows due to its combination of light allowance and shading.
  • Subtle Privacy with More Light: It provides a level of privacy and UV protection without making the interior too dark. It’s a good option for those who want tinting benefits without significantly reducing visibility.
  • Legal Compliance: In many regions, including Texas, 35% is a legally acceptable level of tint for front side windows, making it a popular choice for full-vehicle tinting.

Choosing the Right Tint for Your Needs

When selecting a window tint percentage, consider factors such as desired privacy level, aesthetic preference, UV and glare protection needs, and local legal regulations.

At Texas Tint Magic, we’re here to help our League City customers understand these options and make the best choice for their vehicle.

Remember, the right tint not only enhances the look of your car but also improves comfort and protection from the sun.
